Carla Kern was raised on a farm with barns, animals and quilts to inspire her drawings.  She then became the busy mother to five children.  With no formal art training, Carla realized that her talent for drawing was a complete gift from God.  She took her first official art lesson in 1991 and was soon teaching art.  She has published a pen and ink pattern book called "Dandelions" and has just released her third tole painting book called "Talifeathers".  She lives in Idaho with her husband and their youngest child.
